I've been painting ever since I could walk. Whether it was on the back of paper menus, a sticky note or whatever I could find, I was always drawing something. I grew up in Gainesville Florida, then moved to Savannah Georgia and received my degree in illustration with a minor in photography from SCAD.
Acrylics are definitely my favorite to work with. I use bright colors and bold outlines in my portraiture. They also dry quickly and so I can develop layers of texture within the line work and create tiny details.
Vincent Van Gogh is my number one inspiration. He created 2,100 artworks in his lifetime and started painting when he was only 27.I love his use of dramatic line work and vivid colors.
